BMail (“the app”, “we”) is an email client published by Be Musix. It lets you read, send and organize email through your own Be Musix Mail account (or any IMAP/SMTP account you connect). This policy explains what data the app handles and why. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.
1. Information the app handles
- Account credentials — the email address and password you enter to connect an account. They are stored encrypted on the Be Musix Mail server so the app can sync your mail; they are never shared with third parties.
- Email content — the messages, attachments, drafts, folders, contacts and calendar/task data in your connected accounts. These are synced to and stored on the Be Musix Mail server that powers your account so you can access them across devices.
- Push notification token — to notify you of new mail, the app registers a device token with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). When new mail arrives, the notification’s title and sender are sent through Google’s FCM to deliver the alert to your device.
- Device & session info — basic device name, app version and sign-in sessions, used for account security (you can review and revoke sessions/devices in Settings → Security).
- Diagnostics — the app does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
2. How the information is used
- To provide core email features: sync, read, compose, send, search, organize, attachments, calendar, contacts and tasks.
- To deliver new-mail and security notifications via FCM.
- Optional AI features (summarize, suggested replies, translate) are processed on Be Musix’s own self-hosted AI server. Your email content is not sent to external AI providers such as OpenAI or Google for these features.
- To secure your account (two-factor authentication, passkeys, session management).
3. Data sharing
We share data only where strictly necessary to operate the service:
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — receives your device push token and the notification content needed to deliver push notifications. See Google’s privacy terms.
- Mail delivery — when you send an email, its contents are transmitted to the recipients and their mail providers, as with any email.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Data storage & security
- Connections use TLS/HTTPS encryption. Stored account passwords are encrypted at rest.
- Your mail is stored on the Be Musix Mail server that hosts your account.
- Security options include two-factor authentication (TOTP), recovery codes and passkeys.
5. Data retention & your choices
- Your mail is retained until you delete it or delete the account.
- Delete account — in Settings → account → Danger zone you can permanently delete a connected account and all of its mail, folders and settings from BMail (a typed confirmation is required).
- Export — you can download a full
.mbox backup of an account from the app.
- You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
6. Children
BMail is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13.
7. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
